"The Role and Impact of Masculinity in Education on the Coast of British Columbia: An Analysis of the Formation of the Education Schooling System, 1875-1925" — Oliver O'Dell
Abstract:
In this research paper I endeavour to explore the role of masculinity during the establishment of the British Columbian education system at the end of the 19th century and into the 20th century. The primary sources used for my research are newspaper articles and advertisements found throughout Victoria’s The Daily Colonist. This paper also reflects upon the masculine morals and expectations that were thrust upon children in these educational institutions.
